Session information

MindTravellers offers various psychedelic journeys. These can be individual or in small groups (4 to 8 people). Group sessions are also available for up to 10 people.

Private sessions are held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Group sessions are held on Saturdays, starting at 12:00 noon and lasting until approximately 11:30 a.m. the following Sunday.

What does it look like?

We'll start with a one-hour information session where we'll explain everything. Then the ceremony begins with setting an intention in a ceremonial way, and then your inner journey begins.

This usually takes between six and eight hours, and everyone decides when they're finished, without any time pressure. During your journey, a specially compiled playlist alternates with music created by the guides on their own instruments. You'll experience all sorts of things, and the music will transport you to various adventures.

After your journey, there will be a light vegetarian meal, followed by a sharing session where you share what you want to share. This is an important part of your integration process.

After the inner journey, everyone at their own pace, you'll enjoy healthy soup and a light (vegetarian) meal. Experience shows that people are often tired and want to go to bed early. Sleeping accommodations have also been prepared for you, so you'll have complete peace of mind!

The next morning, we'll have breakfast around 8:00 AM and start sharing around 9:00 AM. This means you'll have the opportunity to share anything you'd like to share about your experience with the group. Afterwards, we'll take a lovely, peaceful walk along the Lek River. For those who enjoy it, we can take a "Wim Hof Dive" or simply gaze at the clouds or simply be in silence with nature.

If it rains, or if the group chooses to do so, instead of walking, we can also make a canvas (all materials are provided for you), which you can use to express your experience without words. You can show and explain this to the rest of the group, as and when you wish. This gives us enough time together to calmly settle down. These are also very special moments of this weekend.

If you'd like to speak with a professional integration coach, we can connect you with someone from our network. This can be helpful if you're feeling a bit confused or anxious about what you've experienced.

Or if you want to make changes in your life based on new insights, but you don't know how.

Screening

After registering, you will receive a questionnaire from us by email. For your and our safety.

We ask you to complete this questionnaire as completely and honestly as possible. These questions are about your physical and mental health.

There are also questions about your motivation for wanting to participate and what your expectations are. Because one thing is certain: it's always going to be different than you expect. You can read a lot about it, but the experience is so much more profound and richer than what you can find online or in books.

Collaboration with Maastricht University

Maastricht University, together with MindTravellers and other parties, is conducting groundbreaking research into the influence of plant medicines on health and well-being.
Dr. Kim van Oorsouw, a psychopharmacologist at this university, is conducting research to scientifically explain these life-changing experiences. What exactly happens in the brain when you're under the influence of plant medicines?

Brain scan research has shown that the plant medicine increases brain activity. This creates new branches and connections, making it possible to reevaluate past events. Furthermore, the short- and long-term effects are being mapped. Recent findings show that taking a journey with a plant medicine has a positive effect on quality of life and reduces stress, anxiety, and depression.

Preparation

To get the most out of your trip, it's important to prepare yourself energetically. This means it's best to avoid dairy products and red meat before your trip. We recommend eating as naturally as possible, starting about two weeks beforehand. This way, you can start your trip as cleanly as possible. It also helps to consciously prepare yourself. Read more about our dietary advice in the FAQ.

Intentions

Just as it's important to have a clear motivation for taking a trip with us, it's also important to clarify your intention. This way, you can get the most out of your journey. What do you hope to achieve with your trip? What do you want to get out of it? An example might be, "I'd like to learn what's important to me right now." Or, "What is my role in…"

Think about this in the days leading up to your trip, or write down some ideas. During the group sessions, there's a special time to share your intention if you'd like. Everyone receives a candle to light while setting their intention for their trip. This way, you can use it as a compass during your journey.

Ceremony information and the choice between a two- or three-day ceremony

We'll start together at 12:00 PM at Nijverheidsweg 7 in Culemborg (on Fridays we start at 3:30 PM – and from August 1st onwards, also at 12:00 PM). We'll then begin with a briefing, where we'll explain what to expect and how the ceremony will proceed. We'll also answer any questions you have. This will take approximately 45 minutes to an hour.

Then we begin the ceremony, which lasts between 5 and 8 hours. You'll be well-guided throughout the entire process and can rest assured you're in good hands. We'll take good care of you, allowing you to fully concentrate on your first inner journey.

After the inner journey, each at their own pace, you'll receive a healthy soup and a light (vegetarian) meal. Experience shows that people are often tired and want to go to bed early. Sleeping accommodations have also been prepared, and you'll be fully cared for!

The next morning, we'll have breakfast around 8:00 AM and start sharing experiences at 9:00 AM. This gives you the opportunity to share any thoughts you'd like to share with the group members. Afterwards, we'll take a lovely, peaceful walk along the Lek River. For those interested, we can take a "Wim Hof Dive" or simply gaze at the clouds or be in silence with nature.

After a light lunch of fruit, soup, and sandwiches, we'll begin with a sound healing session. If it's raining, or if the group prefers, instead of walking, we can also make a canvas (all materials are provided) on which you can express your experience without words. You can show this to the rest of the group and explain it as much as you like. This gives you plenty of time to calmly connect with each other. These are also very special moments of this beautiful gathering. We'll conclude together after a lunch with sandwiches, so you can leave around 11:30 am.

If you've booked a three-day retreat, a second one will be added. This is often especially enjoyable because there's no initial tension, and you can settle into a deeper, often more peaceful meditation. This is followed by a delicious vegetarian meal. The next morning after breakfast, there's a sharing session, followed by a walk along the river or artwork. Feel welcome!
